Hewitt-Fast Family ~ Bozeman, MT Family Photographer

I feel awful for keeping these families waiting so long for their proofs! My trip to NY was awesome -- I kept busy between family visits with lots of photosessions, but didn't have any way to process them until I got home. And of course once I got home there were a million other things to get done.... Good things come to those who wait, right? And here are some good things for one of my childhood friends, Daisy, and her family. Enjoy!

Couldn't resist throwing this one in -- there's such a special relationship between fathers and daughters.

I'm glad we got a couple shots in at this location before sunset. I adore the rolling hills and forests of Central NY.

Holiday Mini-Sessions - Winter is Here!! ~ Bozeman, MT Family Photographer

What a day! Bozeman is truly in the midst of a winter wonderland right now! Three awesome families braved the single digit weather today and met up for the last set of mini-sessions this year. The kids (and the parents!) were all troopers, and followed through with my instructions to "think warm!"

Here's a quick peek of our afternoon. Thanks again to everyone for braving the cold -- it definitely made for some gorgeous images!

Peterson Family ~ Bozeman, MT Family Photographer

Here's the third of five Upstate NY sessions! Again, we had pretty cold and inhospitable weather, but that's just part of the challenge! This awesome family showed up bright and early when the thermometer read 27 degrees. You'd never know it was so chilly! (Well, except in the photo where you can see their breath...)

Anyway, 1 hot mama + 1 stylin' dad = 2 super fun boys. Love it.

We found the only tree in Ithaca that still had leaves on it! Yay!

Yes, brrrr.

You hear all the time that kids need to grow up surrounded by love. Well, these parents are THOSE parents. Still so in love after 16 years! He even built her a custom closet for her 90+ pairs of heels. If that's not love and dedication, then I don't know what is!

Oh, and yeah, we finished up by playing in the leaves. Again. Can't get enough!

Kaiser Kids ~ Bozeman, MT Children's Photographer

I first met these kiddos when the babies (yes, twins) were just a few months old. They were cute then, and down right adorable now! Each one is very different but all are completely lovable! We got together on a rather chilly, windy Ithaca day, but they were troopers!

I'm pretty sure Mom was doing the chicken dance behind me for this one.

Nothing warms you up and brings out the smiles like tossing some leaves!

The race is ON! they certainly gave me a run for my money, but I wouldn't have it any other way! I love it!

Cotter Family ~ Bozeman, MT Family Photographer

So excited to share my first session from my NY trip! Becky and I have known each other since kindergarten -- even went to college together and got the same degree! I am so honored to have spent this time with them a couple weeks ago to take these photos. What a great time with a wonderful family!

Such a beautiful girl -- and a spitting image of her mama!

I just have to share this one -- special thanks to Grandpa for getting us out to the woods in style!

Family Photo Overload! ~ Bozeman, MT Family Photographer

I recently took a working vacation to my hometown of Ithaca, NY. I offered to do some sessions for friends who might be interested to keep busy during my two weeks with family, thinking I might get a little interest. Well, 5 sessions later I'm working my butt off to get these all proofed in time for Christmas!

Having moved away from Ithaca over 10 years ago, I never looked at my hometown through the eyes of a photographer. Yes, Ithaca is Gorges, but MAN, is it gorgeous! We visited a handful of local state parks and private property (with permission!) and despite the fact that the leaves had already turned and fallen, we ended up with some pretty spectacular images.

Here's a quick peek of one from each session. Now I need to get busy and finish proofing them all SOON!

Baby Jackson ~ Bozeman, MT Baby Photographer

I was able to get Jackson's 3-month session in the day before I left on vacation for two weeks, which meant that his mama had to be VERY patient with me since I was unable to process them while I was gone! You know what they say -- good things come to those who wait! He has grown and changed so much in three short months! I couldn't get enough of his chunks!

DSC_0029

Those eyes!!! I truly believe that babies have so much to tell us through their eyes. Jackson is certainly no exception!

This hat fits way better now than it did at his newborn session.

Of course we had him decked out in his Halloween costume since the session was Halloween morning. His Harley costume was complete with custom made chaps from his grandma! I love this moment between grandpa and baby...

He was pretty pooped by the end of our session, but we had to get one quick family shot outside. Pretty sure he was alseep within two minutes of getting back inside.

I Heart Faces -- Silhouettes ~ Bozeman, MT Family Photographer

This week's theme for I Heart Faces is "Silhouettes". FUN! If the sky is agreeable, I often end family sessions with a quick silhouette shot. Here's one of my favs (the Lepley Kids!) for the contest:

Back to my roots ~ Bozeman, MT Photographer

As I sit here in Upstate New York at the house I grew up in, I can't help but think how far out of the loop I am having been without my own computer for the past 10 days! Yikes!

Rest assured, I am still around, still booking sessions, and staying SUPER busy! So far I've had three incredibly fun sessions here in Ithaca, NY, and have been taking full advantage of all the beautiful gorges, trees and leaves in the area. What a wonderful and welcome change (and challenge!) from the wide open Montana sky that I'm so used to. I've been having a blast connecting with people I have known since childhood, now getting the chance to meet *their* children and capture these memories for them.

I can't wait to get home and proof all these sessions and get back into the swing of things! In the meantime, I apologize for my absence and thank you for checking in!!

...now off to get ready for this afternoon's session!
