Product highlight: Gallery Wrapped Canvas {Bozeman, MT portrait photographer}

Ready to take your prints to the next level? I think one of the most profound ways to display your custom photos is by making an image into a gallery wrapped canvas.

Take your photo from this:

To this:

A gallery wrapped canvas is a high quality print on artist canvas. The canvas is stretched over custom made wood supports, and is available in any size you can imagine. It is available in two different depths -- 1.5 inches or 2.5 inches.

When you receive your gallery wrapped canvas, it's ready to hang on the wall. No framing needed -- the structure is built in and the artwork appears to float on the wall.

Consider a gallery wrapped canvas the next time you order from Zo-Mak Photography. You will not be disappointed!

*Gallery wrapped canvases are available in any size larger than 8" square. Call for prices on custom sizes.

Butte, America

I cannot say enough about how great this weekend's workshop was, and how much I came away with. I was pushed far outside of my comfort zone, and I learned SO much from it. I am already a better photographer for having had this experience. Thanks again to Doug and Thomas at Montana Photography Workshops for the oodles of wisdom you bestowed upon me over these two days.

This is just a glimpse of Butte -- a gritty, honest town full of character (and characters).

this is butte_web

The shoot we did with the women of Pink Gloves Boxing was unbelievable. Talk about walking in and fighting everything inside me that told me to dig a hole and hide! This was everything I thought I couldn't do. But I did it.

I was challenged to work on my still life and landscape skills. I pretty much had none when I walked in, but when I walked out, I came out with these. Awesome.

Butte, MT Bound!

I'm so excited to head out early tomorrow morning to attend a workshop put on by Doug Loneman and Thomas Lee in Butte, MT. Up until now, I've been totally self taught -- everything I learn comes from books, internet, trial and error... I'm proud of how far I've come in just about a year, but I'm eager to get some feedback and instruction from these incredible photographers and get some motivation to jump forward.

Check out what I'll be learning at their Montana Photography Workshops blog here. I'm sure I'll come home pumped and spilling over with new ideas and inspiration!

Making the best of a snowy day... Becca and Leslie {Bozeman, MT Portrait Photographer}

I decided today that if it's going to snow in April, I might as well make the best of it. I only needed someone else who agreed with me... Luckily, I found two someones! Becca and Leslie trudged out in the snow with me this evening and allowed me to get these incredible shots! We had a blast - I felt like I was a teenager out with the girls again! Thank you both for the opportunity.

Becca definitely needs to be a ski model. For real. Either that or a dopple-ganger for Cameron Diaz. Beautiful.

I photographed Leslie's adorable daughter for her second birthday a month or so ago -- today I was able to really take the time to see where all that beauty came from!

I can't wait to meet the baby this summer!

Newborn/Baby Photo session 411 {Bozeman, MT Newborn Photographer}

Just in case you were wondering...

When you book a session for your newborn or young baby, chances are good that I will come to your house with an array of goodies to get the incredible shots of your baby like the ones you see on my website here. I may ask you to move a couch or table out of the way depending on where the best light is, then I'll get to work setting things up. As I'm getting things ready, you can be feeding your baby and getting him/her comfortable and ready to snooze. If you're hoping for some shots of your baby in his/her birthday suit, please have them in a loose diaper and wrapped in blankets when I get there. We want to give the diaper marks a chance to fade away, and not have to disrupt a tired baby with undressing. Here's a pretty simple set-up for a newborn to 3-month old baby:

DSC_0041 copy

This particular set-up yielded this shot of this adorable 3-month old baby boy:

DSC_0060

For newborns I come prepared with a heating pad and extension cord to place between the backdrop and beanbag to keep the baby nice and warm, as well as a bunch of cloth diapers to clean up the inevitable messes :) If your little one is used to sleeping with white noise, I'd love to have you let me use the machine that the baby is used to in the spot where we're doing the shoot.

I have a variety of backdrops, blankets, rugs, fabrics, wraps, baskets, buckets, headbands and hats (for boys and girls!) to adorn the little ones, but we can definitely use your own if there's something special you want to use. If you want your baby dressed, something simple is best. Solid colors and fun textures photograph the best.

You can expect me to stay at your home as long as it takes to get the little ones happy and cozy (sometimes up to 2 or 3 hours), and to cooperate and fall asleep for shots like this:

OK, and this:

The best time for sleepy fetal position shots like this is within the first 10-14 days after baby is born. After that they tend not to be so sleepy, and generally aren't interested in being all folded and squished. Not to say that's a bad thing, but I think there's something just so sweet and special about those very first days that you want to remember forever.

If your baby is one who's not interested in sleeping, you won't be disappointed. Those big beautiful brand new eyes already have stories to tell us:

If you're pregnant now and hoping to have memories of your newborn like these, please call now to get on my calendar! I'm booking up pretty quickly for this summer, but will always make newborn shoots my priority since the window of opportunity is so small.

Check out my current specials for Mommy & Me Packages here

Don't forget to stop by and meet me at the Babes in Bozeman Expo on May 15th at the Hilton Garden Inn. I'll have an awesome one-day-only special for those of you who book then!

Baby C is three months! {Bozeman, MT Baby Photographer}

I'll let you all in on a little secret: I'm the luckiest lady in town! Baby C is only 3 months old, and I've already gotten to photograph him twice (and his big brother once)! I'm having such a fun time watching him grow already - I can't wait till he's 6 months and I get to do it again!

Products

Prints:

High quality prints are available in sizes up to 16x20 (please check below under "Wall Art" for prints larger than 16x20). All prints are produced on state-of-the-art digital photographic printers and printing presses. Color consistency and quality are of utmost importance when I chose the pro lab that does all of my printing. You will be amazed with the quality of your prints. All prints larger than 5x7 will be printed with an embossed texture that adds dramatically to your images.

Accordion Mini-Books:
Accordion mini-books are available in two sizes -- wallet or 3" square. They have up to 12 customizable panels and come with a custom photo cover as well. Perfect for the parent or grandparent on the go, you can just toss them in your bag and go!

Proof Books:
A proof book is a spiral-bound 4" x 6" brag book of all the images in your proofing gallery (includes up to 40 images; additional images can be included for a small fee).

Styrene Mounted Wall Art:
For added drama and a piece of art that is ready to hang with or without framing, styrene mounted wall art is a beautiful choice. Your print will be mounted directly on a piece of 2mm thick styrene, which is one of the best mounting substrates available. No need to worry about warping or wrinkling. I especially like this mounting option for larger prints to ensure years of enjoyment without the fear of damaging a thin print.

Standout:
Standout is a thick lightweight board finished with a black plastic edge and comes ready to display with hanging holes on the backside. Standout is available in two depths, 3/4" and 1-1/2", and nothing extra needs to be done to prepare for display. Please ask for prices for various sizes of Standout. (Only available on select sizes larger than 8x10)

Gallery Wrapped Canvas:
Gallery wrapped canvas is a high quality print on artist canvas.

Holiday cards, birth/wedding/engagement announcements:
Custom designs for holiday cards, birth announcements, engagement and wedding announcements are also available. Please ask for details.
