Ashton's Senior Model Session | Helena, Montana Senior Photographer

I had such a great time downtown with Ashton and her Mom earlier this week! Ashton is one of Zo-Mak Photography's senior reps for Helena High Class of 2013 -- so this was the first of two sessions she'll have with me.  This first model session was just an opportunity for her to get used to the camera, strut her stuff and see how much fun we'll have at her full session later this Spring!

As a rep, Ashton's already receiving great discounts on her session fees, and she'll earn free prints and products, have an opportunity to win an iPad (I don't even have one!), AND have tons of fun! (Did I mention that she'll come away with fun, modern, unique senior portraits?)  All this just for hanging out with me, making awesome senior portraits together, then telling her friends about her experience and sending them my way to see for themselves!  Not a bad gig, eh?

As you can see, she rocked this session, and I can't wait to get together with her again in the near future for even more.  What I love best is that she came with a great attitude, open for anything, and really gave it her all!  She told me in the beginning that she wasn't sure what to do; not really sure how to be a model.  That's what I love -- that anyone can do it!

Sound like something you'd like to check out?  I still have opportunities available for senior reps -- if you or someone you know might be interested, send them my way!  I'd love to chat about the benefits and all the awesome free stuff you can get!  Email me at suzie@zomakphotography.com, or head over to my website to check out the senior gallery there, then complete the contact form.  (Or you're always welcome to do it the old fashioned way -- give me a buzz 406-600-2879).

Here you go, Ashton!  Enjoy this first round of pictures.  Can't wait to see you again for more.

Katie & Kalli | Helena, Montana Photographer

What a breath of fresh air!  Chris of Christopher Rebo Photography invited me to go out on a shoot a few days ago with a couple of beautiful and willing models and his friend Tony from PictureFilm (rumor has it that a video of our afternoon will be available for viewing at some point in the near future).

Can't say as the weather was the greatest, but we found some fun opportunities for unique portraits.  Not only was it refreshing to get into downtown Helena and do something different, but I took the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and really reach for a more gritty, urban feel.  I think it worked.  I was channeling my inner senior photographer ;)  Need to get my lens on more people in this genre.  Tons of fun!

(Hint, hint!  Know any seniors who still need their portraits done for the class of 2012?  Those of you in the class of 2013 -- thinking ahead yet??  Drop a note and let me know what you're thinking!)

Since this wasn't a client session, I took the opportunity to really play around with my post processing as well. Lots of different stuff here.

I think these ones deserve to be shown off a little larger than what I usually put on the blog. Enjoy!

Paul Family | Bozeman Helena MT Family Photographer

It's always fun for me to capture images of fellow photographers. A bit nerve-racking at first, but the more I get into it, the more fun I have. In this case, friend and fellow photographer Deea Paul of Deeapaulitan Photography asked me to capture some family images on Christmas Eve. I get all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it -- to have family together is one thing, but to have family together for Christmas is even better. It gives me a glimpse into my future as a mother - what it's going to be like when I'm done with the diaper-changing chapters and moving into the adolescent and teenage years... It's kind of a frightening thought for me, but if my kids have an ounce of the respect, self-worth, friendliness and kindness of these kids, then it might make it a little easier.

Merry Christmas, Paul family. It was my pleasure to be with you on this very special day. You have SO much personality and spunk - it was so fun and easy to be with you all.

Hope you enjoy these images as much as I do!

As the morning went on, the real personalities started to come through. What fun!

We had a great time exploring the back alleys of downtown Bozeman - and found some super fun spots!

Dad suggested that we get some quick images of mom with each of the kids. Us momographers have this problem -- since we're always the one behind the camera, there is a serious shortage of images of US. Good idea, Dad!

Did I mention it was a bit chilly??

Good thing the laughter and fun times (and coffee and occasional warm-up in the car) kept us cozy warm :)

Bozeman Tough... {Bozeman, MT Photographer}

It just doesn't have the same ring to it as "Butte Tough". Rab and I met a couple months ago at a Montana Photography Workshop Seminar in Butte, MT. We've met up a couple times since then to hang out, take photos, and talk shop to someone other than our spouses who I'm sure have the nod and smile down to a science at this point when we start talking aperture, shutter speed and other thrilling topics related to our passion of photography.

Anyway... tonight we found ourselves together again with the assignment being texture. We were to wander around downtown Bozeman photographing texture. No problem.

One brick led to another and we headed to check out this parking garage. Let's just say it's a good thing it was so dark in there, because I'm not so sure I want to know what I was standing on (in?). What's a little graffiti without the proper gang signs?! Rab threw down... and we discovered how not tough we are, but how fun it can be to pretend!
