Oh, my peas! I just want to gobble her up! | Bozeman Helena MT Baby Photographer

Little Miss Elizabeth is getting more and more edible each time I see her! I am just blown away by this beauty - I can't get enough! A summer solstice baby, I first met her for her newborn session in June then again for three months in September. Her six-month session was on winter solstice, her six-month-birthday, a beautiful sunny day. I can't help but want the next three months to hurry past so I can see her for her next session!

How could you not want to gobble her up, all dressed in sherbert?! YUM!

I love that her mom can't get enough PINK! We joked that someday our girls will want to wear all black with black lipstick and mascara... so by george make them dress in pink now!

Hall Family {Bozeman, MT Family Photographer}

What a beautiful morning! I'd been crossing my fingers for the past 16 hours that the weather would hold and the sun would shine on the Hall family this morning. It worked! I had a fantastic time photographing this gorgeous family this morning at one of their favorite fishing spots. What a great way to start the day! This is definitely one of those sessions that is going to take me a while to narrow down -- such great shots the entire time! Here are a couple early favorites to tease you with.

Newborn/Baby Photo session 411 {Bozeman, MT Newborn Photographer}

Just in case you were wondering...

When you book a session for your newborn or young baby, chances are good that I will come to your house with an array of goodies to get the incredible shots of your baby like the ones you see on my website here. I may ask you to move a couch or table out of the way depending on where the best light is, then I'll get to work setting things up. As I'm getting things ready, you can be feeding your baby and getting him/her comfortable and ready to snooze. If you're hoping for some shots of your baby in his/her birthday suit, please have them in a loose diaper and wrapped in blankets when I get there. We want to give the diaper marks a chance to fade away, and not have to disrupt a tired baby with undressing. Here's a pretty simple set-up for a newborn to 3-month old baby:

This particular set-up yielded this shot of this adorable 3-month old baby boy:

For newborns I come prepared with a heating pad and extension cord to place between the backdrop and beanbag to keep the baby nice and warm, as well as a bunch of cloth diapers to clean up the inevitable messes :) If your little one is used to sleeping with white noise, I'd love to have you let me use the machine that the baby is used to in the spot where we're doing the shoot.

I have a variety of backdrops, blankets, rugs, fabrics, wraps, baskets, buckets, headbands and hats (for boys and girls!) to adorn the little ones, but we can definitely use your own if there's something special you want to use. If you want your baby dressed, something simple is best. Solid colors and fun textures photograph the best.

You can expect me to stay at your home as long as it takes to get the little ones happy and cozy (sometimes up to 2 or 3 hours), and to cooperate and fall asleep for shots like this:

OK, and this:

The best time for sleepy fetal position shots like this is within the first 10-14 days after baby is born. After that they tend not to be so sleepy, and generally aren't interested in being all folded and squished. Not to say that's a bad thing, but I think there's something just so sweet and special about those very first days that you want to remember forever.

If your baby is one who's not interested in sleeping, you won't be disappointed. Those big beautiful brand new eyes already have stories to tell us:

If you're pregnant now and hoping to have memories of your newborn like these, please call now to get on my calendar! I'm booking up pretty quickly for this summer, but will always make newborn shoots my priority since the window of opportunity is so small.

Don't forget to stop by and meet me at the Babes in Bozeman Expo on May 15th at the Hilton Garden Inn. I'll have an awesome one-day-only special for those of you who book then!
